Pears Hand Wash

Pears Hand Wash

We spotted this on the shelf and were reminiscing in no time – we remember the bars of soap very well, so were intrigued to see how good the hand wash is… oh, and we love the packaging!

L’Oreal Elvive Smooth-Intense Anti-Frizz Shampoo

L’Oreal Elvive Smooth-Intense Anti-Frizz Shampoo

A rich shampoo for those with very dry, damaged or coarse hair. It moisturises well and even while washing hair feels supple and strong, only if hair is very dirty will you need  second wash. We found this best for those with very damaged or dry hair, especially those who use straightener or heat stylers a lot.  If you only have slightly dry hair, or fly-away hair, you’ll find this much to rich. Good value, often on offer in supermarkets. Available from: Boots Sainsbury’s Superdrug Pin...

Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Breakage Defence Shampoo

Well we can’t argue with price on Pantene products, but do they really do a good enough job? Breakage Defence and all its science seems like it should come with a much bigger price tag. Overall, the longer term results from this shampoo are good – hair certainly seems stronger and, for some, thicker, so it certainly does what it says it should. This is quite a thick ‘sticky’ shampoo, by which we mean we found it quite difficult to rinse out fully, which meant we either found we were leaving too much residue on our hair, leading to a flaky or itchy scalp (a bad reaction for one tester led to sore patches), or we were spending much longer washing our hair through which some of us found a bit frustrating. For some the shampoo was too rich, it left hair greasier quicker, meaning hair had to be washed more often. For those who wash their hair everyday this wasn’t too bad, but it was inconvenient for those who wash their hair every 2-3 days. Overall, if you have very damaged hair this is worth a try, but please do a patch test first and be prepared to spend more time rinsing, and possibly washing, our hair. Nivea Visage Extra Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover

It seems to be so hard to find a good eye make-up remover – we kept seeing Nivea’s Extra Gentle remover in the supermarkets, so decided to give it a try. As a budget remover we feel this is not too bad, but we did have a couple of niggles – despite being ‘extra gentle’ and suitable for contact lens wearers, it did sting the eyes a little which made it uncomfortable to use.  It also wasn’t particularly refreshing, which (rightly or wrongly) we feel an eye make-up remover should do. As far as removing make-up goes, it is very good, though some waterproof mascaras needed more than two or three applications to remove it.  However Nivea do have a separate waterproof eye make-up remover in the Visage range. Overall, a good budget remover, just a little disappointing. Available from: Asda Boots Ocado Sainsburys Superdrug Tesco Waitrose Pin...
Anatomicals Cheese Release Me Foot Cream

Anatomicals Cheese Release Me Foot Cream

“i love you with the ferocity of an exploding thousand megaton nuclear bomb”. “your eyes are like deep pools I could jump naked into and save you from drowning”. “ you are my rock, my pebble, my grain of sand on the beach of life where I dream of us walking hand in hand forever”. if you think these lines are cheesy, take your shoes off after a hard day of being on your feet and you’ll then know exactly why you need this ultra cooling, refreshing, soothing and deodorising cream. some new tights or socks wouldn’t hurt either.” This young and trendy foot cream does more than just moisturise! It has a deodorising effect, for stinky feet, a soothing moisturiser for dry cracked and flaky skin, all wrapped up in a zingy fresh mint fragrance. It comes in a funky blue squeezable tube which is easy to handle. I applied the cream after being in my flip flops all day and noticed that the cream sank in straight away, leaving no visible trace of dry skin on the heels or round my big toe which are my problem areas. After applying though my soles of my feet felt quite greasy and couldn’t put my flip flops back on because I was sliding around in them! Verdict! Although it was too much of a greasy cream to wear before putting on shoes, it would make an ideal cream to put on in the evening after bathing. Super value fresh and zingy foot cream! Anatomicals No Old Bags Allowed Eye Gel

Anatomicals No Old Bags Allowed Eye Gel

I have tried this product over the last couple of days, used first in the morning after cleansing. I was pleased to say that this was not a greasy product so it didn’t interfere with my makeup routine and sat under my foundation nicely. It was slightly tingly when applying but nothing that made me feel uncomfortable. My eyes felt much fresher after applying and seemed to look less baggy. After applying at night time I didn’t see much improvement at morning time but then im allays a bit puffy in the morning. Definitely worth a go though to use in the morning as it did make me feel as it had given me a bit of a perk up! The whole anatomicals range can be found on their wacky website, its whole new young fresh range with no fancy jargon or writing, just straight to the point fun packaging.
