Holiday Time! Packing Frenzy!

Off on my hols in a couple of days… two weeks this time, which means a lot of considered packing! My first thoughts are what’s going in my make-up bag… so what have I got?! First and foremost it’s travel sizes wherever possible – hoping that the travel sizes are generous to enough to not consider taking two of everything or ditching them entirely for full sizes… Having recently become an Arbonne consultant, I was delighted to find a travel set of their RE9 skincare range, I was even more delighted when it arrived to see how much they managed to cram in to the cute little gold bag 🙂 It’s got pretty much everything: Smoothing Facial Cleanser 30ml Regenerating Toner 18ml Corrective Eye Creme 5ml Intensive Renewal Serum 8ml Restorative Day Creme SPF20 8ml Extra Moisture Restorative Day Creme SPF20 8ml Night Repair Creme 7ml Age-Defying Neck Cream 14ml Instant Lift Gel 8ml Nourishing Body Wash 60ml Firming Body Creme 58ml Pretty good, huh?!  This set was £37 with a £90 spend, so you do have to order a bit to get such a great set, but if you’re using Arbonne products already this is definitely a set to go for. So skincare and a bit of bodycare is sorted… make-up next! Still some Arbonne for Tinted Moisturiser, Concealer and Mineral Powder Foundation – great bases that all work together.  I will probably take my Makeup Primer too, but all these are full sizes, so that may have to stay behind (ok, it won’t, I’ll find space in a shoe or something!). Eyeshadow-wise it’ll be my Smashbox Smokebox...
Too much make-up?

Too much make-up?

This morning I was drawn to my Nars Day & Night Eyeshadow Palette – just a little of the minty turquoise (Cleo) I thought, but I didn’t stop… Very soon I’d added the lovely slate blue (Underworld) – which is so hard to resist – and then decided a bit more to line the eyes using Night Breed, because, let’s face it, there is not enough glitter in the world!  Oh, and then as a highlighter I went for Sugarland… lovely, lovely apricot shimmer 🙂 So there I was trotting off to the market with eyes all sultry and smoky, far too much for a September morning buying fruit and veg! I did try (honest!) to soften the look with Elizabeth Arden’s Pink Shimmer Lipstick, but then the Benefit Hoola came out, not to mention the Avon Super Shock Mascara… oops! Pin...

Thursday’s Cosmetics

Just a casual day in the office… Smashbox Halo – their version of mineral/powder foundation.  I love the packaging which contains a sort of grater so powder doesn’t explode everywhere when you open it. Estee Lauder Disappear Concealer for my dark circles… an absolute must as it gives great coverage.  My husband actually introduced me to it and how to apply it – pat it on lightly with fingers for best results. Smashbox Bronzer… the label has worn away and there’s not a lot left, but I think it’s Fusion in ‘Sunset’ which is really nice for bronzing pale skin. Chanel Eyeshadow – the pink and the brown from the Quadra Eyeshadow ‘Influences’. Avon’s SuperShock Mascara in Plum… I wouldn’t say it’s a shock, but it’s definitely super.  It applies very nicely and doesn’t clog. Nars Lipstick in ‘Damage’ – perfect everyday shade 🙂 Pin...

Wednesday’s Haircare

Was up late this morning so it really was a quick hair wash and out the door… Pantene’s Breakage Defence Shampoo – I’ve only just started using this (bargain from Wilkinson’s!), so I’ve yet to decide whether it’s good or not, I think it makes my hair greasier quicker though, so yet to be convinced. John Frieda’s Go Blonder Conditioner – this I’ve been using a while and I really like 🙂  A review to follow soon, I promise! Then it was blow-dry and a quick straighten with my beloved ghds! Pin...

The Bliss Challenge – 8 weeks later!

So I have been using the Bliss fatgirlslim and The Love Handler for exactly 8 weeks now. I used the fatgirlslim on my stomach, hips, thighs and upper arms. I used The Love Handler under the fatgirlslim on just my stomach. I used both most days – twice a day for fatgirlslim and once a day for The Love Handler. I changed nothing regarding exercise or my diet – so pretty much no exercise and eating whatever!! Even from week 1 I was seeing improvements in skintone and after week 2 dimples on my thighs started to smooth out. After 8 weeks I’ve been very impressed, especially on my thighs which are so much smoother now. My upper arms are also much firmer-looking and again much smoother. This alone is good enoughfor me! But I was also testing whether I could lose inches too. So to my measurements… My measurements after 8 weeks: Waist: 30″ (loss of 2 inches) Widest part of stomach (eek!): 37.75″ (loss of 0.25″) Hips: 38.5″ (loss of 0.25″) Left thigh: 21″ (loss of 0.5″) Right thigh: 19.75″ (loss of 1.25″) Left upper arm: 10.75″ (no loss) Right upper arm: 11″ (loss of 0.75″) Well, I think that’s what we’d call success!! fatgirlslim is available from Bliss Pin...
