Sleek MakeUP Pout Polish

We discovered Sleek MakeUP when it first started to arrive in our Glossybox… we’ve always been impressed with the great value of the products and the Pout Polish is no exception.

Figs & Rouge Coco Rose Lip Balm

We adore the Figs & Rouge packaging… so lovely and giftable. The Coco Rose Lip Balm is a pale pink with plenty of shimmer, so if you like tinted balms you may want to give this a try. Application-wise it’s a bit gloopy for applying with fingers, it smooths on ok with a brush and it’s just very messy straight from the tube! It’s a little slimy and slightly sticky – the overall feel was not like a balm, so it didn’t feel very nourishing. Overall it’s the packaging and colour we liked best – if you’re looking for a gloss this is good, but if you’re wanting a balm we wouldn’t choose this. At £4.95 (from FeelUnique) it’s not a bad price for an everyday gloss. Pin...

Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips

We’ve received this in both our Birchbox and Glossybox subscriptions recently, and we’ve heard all the amazing things that people think of it… Because of that we expected to love it, and we wanted to love it, but it just didn’t do it for us 🙁 We found the balm too thick and heavy – it didn’t glide onto the lips with comfort, it was sort of dragged on, even when we tried to warm it first… While the after effects were good and lips looked healthier after a few days, the actual application was not a pleasure, so we gave up. L’Occitane Shea Butter Lip Balm

L’Occitane Shea Butter Lip Balm

A L’Occitane product which is often overlooked, but we love it! If the pure shea butter is too much for you then try this – it contains shea butter, but it feels much lighter on the lips. It glides on and lips feel instantly moisturised and protected. Despite gliding on it doesn’t glide off, it isn’t sticky and you can easily apply lipstick or gloss over the top. At £7.50 we think this is excellent value – it may seem a little pricey to some of you for a lip balm, but the results are brilliant – lip colour and texture improves no end and it’s worth chucking your 99p chapstick for! L’Occitane 100% Shea Butter

A hero product! Shea butter is a fabulous ingredient, but sometimes pure shea butter is all you need. Extremely soothing, repairing and moisturising it is ideal for excema, allergy sufferers and those with sore dry skin. We use it on sore skin; as a lip balm; as a nail and cuticle balm; on dry elbows, knees and ankles; as a manicure and pedicure treatment; in place of a hair serum… oh the list goes on! Basically, if you like natural products and treatments you’d be a fool to miss this. It lasts ages, a large tin is a good investment if you use it daily for many uses, but a smaller tin will be ideal for travel or if you just use it as a lip balm. L’Occitane’s Shea Butter is bought directly from a female co-operative, so you can be sure of a fairly traded, quality product. And the packaging is fab too!
