Anatomicals Don’t Just Clean It Woman, Scrub It Body Scrub

We always look forward to an Anatomicals product… so much fun and humour goes into the product and packaging, but sadly we were a little disappointed with this one. The results were ok, but when a product is called “don’t just clean it woman, scrub it” we expect a damn good scrubbing!! ┬áIn reality the scrubbiness (is that a word?!) is a little too gentle… no bad thing for sensitive skin, but not what we were expecting. We also expected a really vibrant grapefruit scent, but this seemed only lightly scented – it’s lovely, but not wow. Overall this would probably best serve as a daily exfoliating shower gel rather than a good overall scrub. Betty Buff Strawberry Smash Sugar Scrub

Betty Buff Strawberry Smash Sugar Scrub

If you need a reminder of what the British Summer should be like, this is it! Betty Buff’s Strawberry Smash Sugar Scrub is oozing with lovely fresh strawberries, known for their gentle cleansing properties. The consistency is just as we like… sugary enough to scrub gently but thoroughly, yet gloopy enough to feel pampered and indulgent. A short shelf-life due to the super-fresh ingredients, but it won’t sit on the shelf because you’ll want to slather it on anyway! ——- March 2013: Since reviewing Betty Buff’s Sugar Scrub, we’re sad to hear that Betty Buff has ceased trading. Betty Buff Morning Coffee Sugar Scrub

Betty Buff Morning Coffee Sugar Scrub

‘Morning Coffee’ is the first of Betty Buff’s sugar scrubs that we’ve tried and we weren’t disappointed! Nice big 250ml tubs of natural ingredients – perfect for sensitive or allergy-prone skin as Betty Buff products are completely free from colours, fragrance and strange ingredients we can’t spell let alone pronounce! Made in the UK too and with a commitment to buying British and Fairtrade. Easy to apply – simply scoop out of the jar and rub on to damp skin: the more water you use the smoother the scrub will be, for a really intense scrub use less water. Rinse off when you’re done. No matter how intense you get there’s no redness as you get with some of the grittier scrubs – if there is, go slower and calmer! Morning Coffee left skin feeling lovely and smooth – it’s perfectly balanced and doesn’t dry skin out like some scrubs and it’s not greasy like others where the goodness swims in so much oil that you have to wash it all off rather than rinse. This scrub is ideal for preparing your skin for summer and for fake tan. It was also a success with our male tester – he liked the coffee edge and was impressed that ‘real beans are in it!’. —— March 2013: Since reviewing Betty Buff’s Sugar Scrub, we’re sad to hear that Betty Buff has ceased trading. Kiehl’s Grapefruit Gently Exfoliating Body Scrub

Kiehl’s Grapefruit Gently Exfoliating Body Scrub

We were delighted to find a grapefruit scrub having heard that grapefruit is great for blitzing cellulite! Could it be true?! We were expecting a super-zesty scent, but were pleasantly surprised by the creaminess of the Kiehl’s Grapfruit Scrub… the richness of the cream means you can really give your skin a good treatment as it doesn’t wash away or disappear to nothing as you massage it into your skin. It really is gentle too – gritty yes, but in a nice way! It does scratch at the skin and there’s no redness as you get with some exfoliators. We were particularly impressed when using regularly on thighs and upper arms – skin truly is left much smoother and softer – if you’re prone to those little bobbles of upper arms this is definitely worth a try. The price perhaps prevents this being an everyday scrub, but treat yourself once or twice a week and you will certainly notice a difference. Available from: Kiehl’s Beauty Expert Space NK Pin...
