Christmas Bodycare Gifts

Christmas Bodycare Gifts

We’ve been so distracted by all the lovely emails coming in for beautiful Christmas gift sets that we thought we’d pick three of our favourite body care gifts for this Christmas… add to your wish lists and start hinting! First on the list is Elemis… we never tire of the fabulous Elemis gift sets and it is the Princess of Spa set that has caught our attention this year. With its three full size products – 400ml Skin Nourishing Milk Bath, 300ml Quiet Mind Relaxing Bath Elixir and 100ml ProRadiance Hand & Nail Cream – you get £80-worth of products for £49.50. Skin Nourishing Milk Bath is a product we recommend for anyone with troublesome or dry skin, while Quiet Mind is a soothing treat and the ProRadiance Hand Cream a handbag must-have. Available from Beauty Expert, John Lewis and Time to Spa. Next on the list is Sanctuary Spa’s Ultimate Body Revival – at £20 (and part of a 3 for 2 offer at Boots and Sanctuary Spa), this is an affordable treat for family and friends. Not the full sizes we see with the Elemis set, but a little bit of everything – Hand Cream, Body Butter, Body Scrub, Body Lotion, Luxury Bath Float and nail files. Sanctuary Spa are offering lots of lovely bodycare gift sets this year, with prices starting at just £8. Available from Boots and Sanctuary Spa. Christmas wouldn’t feel right without Molton Brown under the Christmas Tree! And we need a treat for the boys? (Hey, think about it, we can pinch it!). This gift set contains two full size body washes,...

Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Body Lotion

A rich fragranced body lotion to compliment Donna Karan’s Cashmere Mist fragrance. The texture is thick and creamy, it absorbs well and leaves skin feeling soft and smooth. Soothes and softens skin immediately and over time it improves skin texture and hydration. The fragrance is quite strong and lingers all day – if you don’t like too much fragrance you won’t need the perfume as well, or you may prefer to use the body lotion during the day and the fragrance for special occasions. Available from: Island Cosmetics Try this if you like: Penhaligon’s Artemisia Pin...

Avon Skin-So-Soft Gelled Body Oil

We were really impressed by this, so much so that some of us re-ordered before we finished the tube! Light, cool and silky. It absorbs into the skin so well, it’s not sticky (though a little drying time is recommended – not long though) and skin is left so smooth and soft. Especially good on legs which stay smooth and silky-feeling all day. The scent is ‘Soft & Sensual’ – a delicate feminine fragrance, great for layering with most floral perfumes. The scent isn’t strong, so don’t be put off if you don’t like floral fragrances. We are hoping they’ll do this in the ‘Soft & Fresh’ fragrance too! Availability: Discontinued by Avon in 2007 shortly after our original review it is came back to the range in 2009, but sadly it’s discontinued once again – a real shame! Pin...
L’Occitane Almond Bust Gel

L’Occitane Almond Bust Gel

‘Tightening and firming’ is certainly an attractive phrase when considering your bust!! Sadly, this promising product (as most L’Occitane products are) was a disappointment. None of our testers found a tightening or firming result, even after 4-6 weeks of use. Skin tone was often improved, but that was about it and, to be honest, any body lotion could do that. The texture was very good though, a cream gel which felt soft and soothing – we wouldn’t dismiss this completely if you need improved skin tone and have sensitive skin, especially if you have found a body cream too rich on the bust area. Not an unpleasant fragrance, quite neutral in fact, so layering with other lotions and fragrances wasn’t a problem. Contains almond extract, almond milk and almond oil. The Almond Bust Gel has been discontinued since our review was written, but you can still buy other products from the L’Occitane Almond range from: L’Occitane Pin...
