Holiday Time! Packing Frenzy!

Off on my hols in a couple of days… two weeks this time, which means a lot of considered packing! My first thoughts are what’s going in my make-up bag… so what have I got?! First and foremost it’s travel sizes wherever possible – hoping that the travel sizes are generous to enough to not consider taking two of everything or ditching them entirely for full sizes… Having recently become an Arbonne consultant, I was delighted to find a travel set of their RE9 skincare range, I was even more delighted when it arrived to see how much they managed to cram in to the cute little gold bag 🙂 It’s got pretty much everything: Smoothing Facial Cleanser 30ml Regenerating Toner 18ml Corrective Eye Creme 5ml Intensive Renewal Serum 8ml Restorative Day Creme SPF20 8ml Extra Moisture Restorative Day Creme SPF20 8ml Night Repair Creme 7ml Age-Defying Neck Cream 14ml Instant Lift Gel 8ml Nourishing Body Wash 60ml Firming Body Creme 58ml Pretty good, huh?!  This set was £37 with a £90 spend, so you do have to order a bit to get such a great set, but if you’re using Arbonne products already this is definitely a set to go for. So skincare and a bit of bodycare is sorted… make-up next! Still some Arbonne for Tinted Moisturiser, Concealer and Mineral Powder Foundation – great bases that all work together.  I will probably take my Makeup Primer too, but all these are full sizes, so that may have to stay behind (ok, it won’t, I’ll find space in a shoe or something!). Eyeshadow-wise it’ll be my Smashbox Smokebox...
Too much make-up?

Too much make-up?

This morning I was drawn to my Nars Day & Night Eyeshadow Palette – just a little of the minty turquoise (Cleo) I thought, but I didn’t stop… Very soon I’d added the lovely slate blue (Underworld) – which is so hard to resist – and then decided a bit more to line the eyes using Night Breed, because, let’s face it, there is not enough glitter in the world!  Oh, and then as a highlighter I went for Sugarland… lovely, lovely apricot shimmer 🙂 So there I was trotting off to the market with eyes all sultry and smoky, far too much for a September morning buying fruit and veg! I did try (honest!) to soften the look with Elizabeth Arden’s Pink Shimmer Lipstick, but then the Benefit Hoola came out, not to mention the Avon Super Shock Mascara… oops! Pin...

Thursday’s Cosmetics

Just a casual day in the office… Smashbox Halo – their version of mineral/powder foundation.  I love the packaging which contains a sort of grater so powder doesn’t explode everywhere when you open it. Estee Lauder Disappear Concealer for my dark circles… an absolute must as it gives great coverage.  My husband actually introduced me to it and how to apply it – pat it on lightly with fingers for best results. Smashbox Bronzer… the label has worn away and there’s not a lot left, but I think it’s Fusion in ‘Sunset’ which is really nice for bronzing pale skin. Chanel Eyeshadow – the pink and the brown from the Quadra Eyeshadow ‘Influences’. Avon’s SuperShock Mascara in Plum… I wouldn’t say it’s a shock, but it’s definitely super.  It applies very nicely and doesn’t clog. Nars Lipstick in ‘Damage’ – perfect everyday shade 🙂 Pin...

Avon Skin-So-Soft Gelled Body Oil

We were really impressed by this, so much so that some of us re-ordered before we finished the tube! Light, cool and silky. It absorbs into the skin so well, it’s not sticky (though a little drying time is recommended – not long though) and skin is left so smooth and soft. Especially good on legs which stay smooth and silky-feeling all day. The scent is ‘Soft & Sensual’ – a delicate feminine fragrance, great for layering with most floral perfumes. The scent isn’t strong, so don’t be put off if you don’t like floral fragrances. We are hoping they’ll do this in the ‘Soft & Fresh’ fragrance too! Availability: Discontinued by Avon in 2007 shortly after our original review it is came back to the range in 2009, but sadly it’s discontinued once again – a real shame! Pin...
