With celebrities galore loving Bio-Oil is it really the miracle oil we all need?
Sienna Miller is the latest celeb mum-to-be to chose Bio-Oil to keep her baby bump stretch mark free, with Helena Christensen, Tess Daly, Denise Van Outen, Charlotte Church and Kym Marsh among its fan-club.
Not just for pregnancy, Bio-Oil helps improve skin tone for those with stretch marks from weight gain and weight loss, scarring, imperfections and a number of skin conditions.
We tested Bio-Oil on stretch marks from weight gain and on old scars…
Bio-Oil is very easy to use, simply smooth into your skin twice a day. On dry skin you’ll find you’ll use quite a bit to start with as skin drinks it in so quickly, but after a few applications you’ll use less as skin hydration improves.
Initially on stretch marks we noticed a bit of redness after the first couple of days, so we reduced the usage to a smaller area to continue our test. After a week the redness had gone and although the marks could still be seen the skin was smoother. After approx 3-4 weeks the marks appeared to reduce. Continued use at twice a day is recommended, when we dropped usage to once a day we saw little improvement.
On old scars skin texture improved, but scars were still visible. We have heard reports of better results on newer scars, so we think Bio-Oil can certainly help those with scarring.
Ingredients include vitamin A and E with Calendula, Lavender, Rosemary and Chamomile oils, plus the unique ingredient, PurCellin Oil™. PurCellin Oil means Bio-Oil is non-greasy to ensure the ingredients are absorbed deep into the second layer of the skin, where they can provide targeted treatment.
For those wanting to get their skin in tip-top condition, even if you have no scarring or marks, Bio-Oil is certainly a product to choose. It can be used on face or body and overall skin is hydrated and healthy within days, the perfect pick-me-up after winter!
