Nivea Visage Extra Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover

Nivea Visage Extra Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover

It seems to be so hard to find a good eye make-up remover – we kept seeing Nivea’s Extra Gentle remover in the supermarkets, so decided to give it a try.

As a budget remover we feel this is not too bad, but we did have a couple of niggles – despite being ‘extra gentle’ and suitable for contact lens wearers, it did sting the eyes a little which made it uncomfortable to use.  It also wasn’t particularly refreshing, which (rightly or wrongly) we feel an eye make-up remover should do.

As far as removing make-up goes, it is very good, though some waterproof mascaras needed more than two or three applications to remove it.  However Nivea do have a separate waterproof eye make-up remover in the Visage range.

Overall, a good budget remover, just a little disappointing.

Anatomicals No Old Bags Allowed Eye Gel

  • Posted on May 28, 2009 at 5:02 pm

I have tried this product over the last couple of days, used first in the morning after cleansing. I was pleased to say that this was not a greasy product so it didn’t interfere with my makeup routine and sat under my foundation nicely. It was slightly tingly when applying but nothing that made me feel uncomfortable. My eyes felt much fresher after applying and seemed to look less baggy.

After applying at night time I didn’t see much improvement at morning time but then im allays a bit puffy in the morning.

Definitely worth a go though to use in the morning as it did make me feel as it had given me a bit of a perk up!

The whole anatomicals range can be found on their wacky website, its whole new young fresh range with no fancy jargon or writing, just straight to the point fun packaging.

Priced at: £3 for 15ml

Garnier Eye Roll-On with Caffeine

We were a little unsure when we first opened this – would a roll-on product really be gentle enough around the eye area? Well, don’t worry – it is! In fact it’s so soothing it’s rather addictive!

Formulated to hydrate and refresh tired eyes, the roll-on certainly does that. After a couple of weeks of testing this out we have certainly found it to moisturise well (although if you’re looking for something to combat lines and wrinkles this may not be enough for you) and it definitely perks up tired eyes – we were using it through the day, not just in the morning – it works well, but if applying over make-up the rollerball does get a little grubby.

Longer term effects are reasonable, after just over two weeks use we noticed a slight reduction in dark circles.

This will last such a long time too – being a rollerball applicator there’s no product wasted.

A handy product, though you may want to combine this with a different product for night-time, especially if your main concerns are lines and wrinkles rather than tiredness and dark circles.

Nivea Visage Q10 Plus Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream

Nivea Visage Q10 Plus Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream

We had mixed reports on this one… some found it to be exactly what they needed, especially for visibly reducing wrinkles (as it says on the box), but others felt it didn’t do enough, some found no change at all.

Overall, testers agreed that the texture was good and the cream absorbs well into the skin. It was also noted that the cream felt protective, yet not clogging.

Recommended for ages 35+.

Gatineau Floracil Gentle Cleansing Lotion (Eye Make-up Remover)

  • Posted on July 15, 2007 at 10:12 pm

A very popular eye make-up remover, especially for contact lens wearers, those with sensitive eyes and those who wear a lot of make-up.

Non-oily, so leaves the eye area refreshed and well cleansed without stickiness or greasiness. Most mascaras and eye colours are removed quickly and without trace. Some of the more stubborn waterproof mascaras take a little longer to remove, but if you gentle press the cotton wool pads soaked in Floracil over your eyes and wait a minute or so not only will you remove your mascara, but you’ll have fresh-feeling eyes!
