An indulgent-looking treat in our September GlossyBox, the Rodial 5 Minute Facial is a mask/peel to gently exfoliate and clarify the skin.

It’s a thick clay-based mask which feels a little gritty but smooths easily on to the skin, the scent is nothing to worry about, but isn’t terribly exciting either.

After five minutes you gently rub the mask off with your fingertips – this sounds easy, but it’s a bit messy and not all of the mask rubs away, so you have do follow with lukewarm water.

The look of the skin afterwards is good, it looks clear and smooth, but the feel of the skin is not so good – skin felt dry and parched, desperate for hydration!  We quickly followed with a toner as skin felt uncomfortable.

For oilier skin types this does help remove excess oil and helps with balancing, but if you have normal or dry skin we’d not recommend this for you.

Overall we were disappointed – at £35 for 50ml we think you can find better exfoliators and masks for a similar price and for a lot cheaper too.

The 5 Minute Facial is no longer available, but Rodial offer a number of masks and peels – visit the Rodial website for details.
